Corporate Officers
Dan Martin , is Founder and Forecast Director of Buoyweather. Dan has been developing weather web sites since 1995. In 1998, the "Virtual Buoy" was created. It was the first program of its kind, dynamically converting weather model data into a web page forecast. This laid the foundation of Buoyweather, a global weather company. Dan has a degree in Economics and started his career life in the financial industry programming stock and futures trading systems. After moving to the middle of the ocean (Maui), Dan decided to focus on weather programs to help plan his ocean activities. Dan has been an avid sailor and water sport enthusiast his whole life. His time off is spent sailing his 37' Trimaran around the Hawaiian Islands with his family...weather permitting of course.

Jonno Wells, CEO, comes to Surfline/Wavetrak Inc., Buoyweather’s parent company from technology media company CMP Media, where he held various publishing, operational management, sales and business development positions over 16 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. In various other roles, he has served as Vice President of Client Services of an interactive advertising agency and was involved in the management of a start-up streaming media venture. He brings a customer-focus approach from having created media solutions for many leading companies including Warner Bros., Nissan, Intel, HP and Microsoft. Jonno holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He grew up on the beaches of Newport, Corona del Mar and Laguna.

Sean Collins serves as president, chief weather officer for Surfline and Buoyweather. Collins was the first person to accurately forecast swells from the Southern Hemisphere on a regular basis in the '70s and early '80s. He pioneered and created the first ongoing surf forecast available to the surfing public via Surfline and 976-SURF in 1985. Over the past 20 years, he has developed a sophisticated, proprietary system of wave forecasting. Through Surfline, Collins provides weather and forecasting services to every lifeguard agency in California, the Coast Guard, National Weather Service, numerous domestic and international governmental agencies and nearly every surf company in the world. Collins also developed the famous Surfline camera network available on Surfline.com today. He was named one of the "25 Most Influential Surfers of the Century" by Surfer magazine in the summer of 1999, and the "8th Most Powerful Surfer in the Surf Industry" by Surfer Magazine in the summer of 2002.

Robin Walker, Director of Advertising. After working as a Financial Advisor/Rule 144 Specialist at Morgan Stanley during one of the deepest and longest bear markets in recorded history, Robin Walker joined Surfline and Buoyweather to sell ads, catch a few waves and party with the Foster's Girls. In addition to having been an All-Big West Selection tennis player, Robin is a self-styled go-getter who does not understand the word "No" -- so don't even try using it around him. Robin likes light beer, warm-water point breaks and "selling stuff." PLEASE CALL FOR ADVERTISING RATES!
